NOTES: Act 2 only. Mary Kate's first show as principal Elphaba on Broadway and first show for Alexandra Socha, Donna McKechnie, Brad Oscar, and Natalie Ortega! I had technical issues and couldn't capture act 1, much like the show itself (MK broke the bottle of green elixir while sharing secrets and they had to pause the show. Alexandra Socha's Popular was literally a show-stopper). This was recorded from the front row and the quality is not fantastic. There was a lot of support for the new cast - Natalie Ortega in particular had a lot of fans in the audience, which you can really hear during Wicked Witch of the East. Donna McKechnie flubbed a few lines, but I believe there were more in act 1 (the most notable was when she mispronounced her own name in her entrance). But she's Donna McKechnie, so she can do that. Some minor first-night growing pains for the show in general, but this cast was excellent and will only get better. Alexandra Socha was a standout for sure - her emotion near the end of the show blew me away

Every principal is great in their role, but Diluckshan, Johanne and Cecilie absolutely steal the show. Katrine is a powerhouse of vocals and Johanne's Popular is iconic. After Glinda banishes him in Act 2, The Wizard exits out through the audience and improvises a couple quips. Dorothy was also added to the ensemble and appears in No One Mourns the Wicked, the cornfield & the melting, with no speaking lines. Never gift this audio
