NOTES: An excellent capture of Tori as Matilda. She's a very impressive young actress, and has her own fresh take on the role. The rest of the cast is solid as well; I believe this is the first capture of Alison Luff, and she steps into the show beautifully. This is very nicely captured with no washout, no major blackouts, and very little obstruction. A railing blocks the very front left corner of the stage, but only the actors' legs are unseen. Telly is audio only; the video for act two begins when the house lights go down and Lavender takes the stage. It's filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is excellent. It’s filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is excellent, although they were having occasional issues with their sound system. Includes curtain call, encore, and playbill scans. Two discs. Previous notes stated that Act 2 ends before the Killer Bunny just after Tim the Enchanter's entrance. This is in fact a full capture, but VTS_01_4.VOB is missing from the Act 2 folder in most circulating copies. Check with traders, as a full copy does exist

NOTES: Filmed in 16:9 widescreen. No obstructions, only one blackout in Act One due to late-comers, and a very brief one in Act Two due to a glitch in the video that had to get cut out. Steady filming with a good mix of close-ups and medium zooms for ensemble action on the very large set. External audio fed in from MD source so it is clear. Overall, a very solid cast and excellent performances all-around. Judy McLane especially stood out as Diana, as did Jonathan Rayson as Dan. One of my favorite Diana/Dan combinations I've seen. Absolutely genuine and powerful acting from those two, which is pretty amazing considering the show's run was only three weeks long. They made very good use of some new staging and a new set, bringing out some new nuances to the show. Some elements I thought were essential to the Broadway/tour productions were missing, but it's nothing too drastic. There were also some very minor script changes that were interesting. Everyone (perhaps because it was the closing show) was giving 110% and was on fire

This is not a huge issue though and everything can be seen. External audio was not used as it was too quiet. Recording includes the curtain call and a shot of the outside of the theatre

NOTES: Fantastic capture of this incredible West End transfer. Shot in a beautiful mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. More wides than usual to catch the simply amazing staging and blocking. Some increased wandering, shaking, and re-adjusting throughout, as well as my backpack occasionally blocking the very bottom of the stage, but nothing is missed. The overhang cuts off the very top of the set and occasionally obscures faces when they're far back in the top rooms. Some non-disruptive rustling heard throughout. Truly an excellent capture of this excellent show
